Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Accu-Chek Active Test Strips (box containing 50 test strips in a sealed, desiccated container) deliver reliable and accurate capillary blood glucose quantification for personal self-testing and clinical monitoring:
• Glucose Photometric Biosensing Technology: Utilizes a glucose-dye-oxidoreductase chemistry. When a small blood sample is applied to the test pad, glucose in the blood reacts with enzymes on the strip, inducing a color intensity change proportional to the blood glucose concentration. The Accu-Chek Active meter measures this color change photometrically and calculates the exact blood glucose value.
• Low Sample Volume & Fast Results: Requires a tiny sample of fresh capillary blood drawn from the fingertip or alternative sites (palm, forearm), delivering accurate readings within 5 seconds.
• Dual Dosing Flexibility (In-Meter & Out-of-Meter): Offers the convenience of applying blood while the strip is inserted in the meter or applying blood outside the meter before reinserting it, catering to patients with tremors or restricted dexterity.
• Visual Color-Check Backup: Features a color match check option on the back of the strip vial, allowing users to visually cross-check the color on the test strip against a color chart on the container to verify meter accuracy.

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Wash hands thoroughly with warm water and soap, then dry completely.
• Take a test strip from the container and immediately close the cap tightly.
• Insert the strip into the Accu-Chek Active meter following the directional arrows.
• Lance the side of a fingertip using a sterile lancing device. Gently squeeze to obtain a small blood drop
• Touch the blood drop to the center of the green test field on the strip. Read the result on the screen after 5 seconds.

Recommended Usage:

• Use as directed by a healthcare provider or endocrinologist according to your personal diabetes testing schedule (e.g., fasting, pre-meal, or 2 hours post-meal).

Precautions & Warnings:

• For in-vitro diagnostic use only. Single-use only; do not re-use test strips. Do not apply blood to the strip before inserting it into the meter unless utilizing out-of-meter dosing mode. Check the expiration date on the vial; do not use expired strips. Store test strips in their original closed container between 2°C and 30°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
