Anomex Suppositories 5s is a targeted anti-hemorrhoidal formulation combining a local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory agent, and protective astringents to rapidly relieve pain, swelling, itching, and bleeding associated with internal hemorrhoids and anal fissures.

1

Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Anomex Suppositories (pack of 5 suppositories) provides multi-target anorectal relief engineered to reduce localized swelling, soothe irritated mucosa, and ease acute painful defecation:
  • Targeted Anesthetic Pain Relief (Lidocaine / Lignocaine): Reversibly blocks voltage-gated sodium channels along sensory nerve endings in the anorectal mucosa, halting nerve impulse propagation and delivering rapid local analgesia from rectal burning, pain, and muscular spasm.
  • Anti-Inflammatory & Anti-Pruritic Action (Hydrocortisone / Corticosteroid): Suppresses local capillary permeability and inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokine release, effectively reducing tissue edema, vascular congestion, and intense perianal itching.
  • Astringent & Mucosal Protection (Bismuth Subgallate & Zinc Oxide): Coagulates surface proteins across inflamed anorectal tissues, creating a soothing protective barrier that guards against fecal irritation, reduces minor capillary bleeding, and promotes mucosal healing.

Clinical Indications

  • Anomex Suppositories 5s is indicated for:
  • Symptomatic management and pain relief of internal hemorrhoids (piles) and associated anorectal congestion
  • Management of pain, irritation, and tenesmus associated with acute or chronic anal fissures
  • Treatment of proctitis, localized rectal inflammation, perianal eczema, and persistent anal itching (pruritus ani)

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Rectal use only. Wash hands thoroughly before and after insertion. Remove the suppository from the foil wrapper and insert one suppository deeply into the rectum, ideally following a bowel movement and gentle cleansing (or a warm sitz bath).

Recommended Dosage:

  • Adults: Insert 1 suppository rectally twice daily (morning and at bedtime) or as directed by a healthcare professional. Reduce frequency as symptoms subside. Short-term treatment (typically 5 to 7 days) is recommended.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For rectal administration only; do not swallow. Avoid prolonged continuous use to prevent localized mucosal thinning or systemic corticosteroid absorption. Contraindicated in individuals with untreated tuberculous, fungal, viral, or bacterial infections of the anorectal region. Discontinue use and consult a physician if severe rectal bleeding occurs or symptoms persist beyond 7 days. Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place protected from direct heat (do not allow suppositories to melt). Keep out of reach of children.
