Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Ascoril Expectorant (200ml bottle) provides comprehensive relief for wet, productive coughs accompanied by thick bronchial secretions and airway constriction:
• Airway Relaxation & Bronchodilation (Terbutaline Sulfate): Acts as a selective $\beta_2$-adrenergic receptor agonist that relaxes bronchial smooth muscles, widening constricted airways, easing wheezing, and improving airflow to the lungs.
• Mucolytic Acidic Mucopolysaccharide Cleavage (Bromhexine Hydrochloride): Actively breaks down thick mucopolysaccharide fibers in bronchial sputum, thinning dense mucus and reducing viscosity so it can be expelled easily.
• Expectorant & Mucus Clearance (Guaifenesin): Increases the volume and reduces the stickiness of respiratory tract fluid, lubricating irritated bronchial passages and promoting productive coughing to clear chest congestion.

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Take orally using a precise measuring cup or syringe. May be taken with or without food. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to aid mucus liquefaction.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults & Adolescents over 12 years: 10ml to 15ml three times daily.
• Children 6 to 12 years: 5ml three times daily.
• Children 2 to 5 years: 2.5ml three times daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Exercise caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders (e.g., cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension), hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, or active peptic ulcer disease. Potential side effects include mild fine muscle tremors, tachycardia, palpitations, dizziness, or mild gastrointestinal discomfort.
