Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Basokof Syrup (200ml bottle) combines active bronchodilating, mucolytic, expectorant, and soothing agents to relieve chest tightness and clear hypersecretory airways:
• Selective $\beta_2$-Adrenoreceptor Agonism (Terbutaline Sulfate): Relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, dilating narrowed airways to reduce airway resistance, relieve wheezing, and ease difficulty in breathing.
• Mucolytic & Secretolytic Breakdown (Bromhexine Hydrochloride): Lyses mucopolysaccharide fibers within thick tracheobronchial secretions, reducing sputum viscosity and converting heavy mucus into a less tenacious liquid state.
• Expectorant & Reflex Cleansing (Guaifenesin): Increases volume and reduces viscosity of respiratory tract secretions by stimulating bronchial secretory cells, facilitating effective expulsion of mucus via coughing.
• Soothing Cooling Effect (Menthol): Provides localized cooling and mild anesthetic action on pharyngeal tissues, soothing throat irritation and easing coughing discomfort.

Clinical Indications

• Basokof Syrup 200ml is indicated for:
• Relief of productive (chesty) coughs associated with bronchospasm and hyperactive airways
• Symptomatic treatment of acute bronchitis, exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, and bronchial asthma
• Facilitating sputum clearance in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or respiratory infections with thick bronchial phlegm

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Shake well before use. Measure the prescribed dose accurately using a calibrated measuring cup or spoon. Take after meals with a full glass of water to optimize mucus-thinning efficacy.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults and Children over 12 years: 10ml to 15ml 3 times daily.
• Children 6 to 12 years: 5ml 3 times daily.
• Children under 6 years: Use only under direct medical supervision with age-adjusted dosing.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For oral use only. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular disorders (such as hypertension or cardiac arrhythmias), diabetes mellitus, or history of peptic ulcers. May cause mild tremors, tachycardia, or transient palpitations in sensitive individuals due to sympathomimetic action. Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight.
