Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Biogras (10cm×10cm sterile gauze dressings, 10-pack) provides active microbicidal protection and non-traumatic primary wound coverage:
• Broad-Spectrum Antimicrobial Protection (Chlorhexidine Acetate 0.5% w/w): Impregnated with chlorhexidine acetate, a proven topical antiseptic that disrupts microbial plasma cell membranes. It causes rapid intracellular leakage and destruction of a wide spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria (including Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa).
• Non-Adherent Paraffin Tulle Gras Base: Soft white paraffin wax coats the leno-weave cotton gauze, creating a low-adherence primary contact layer. This prevents the dressing from sticking to fragile, regenerating wound tissue, minimizing trauma and pain during dressing changes.
• Free Exudate Drainage: The open-weave mesh matrix allows thick wound exudate and fluid secretions to pass freely into a secondary absorbent outer dressing, preventing fluid pooling, skin maceration, and wound bed degradation.

Clinical Indications

• Biogras 10cm×10cm 10s is indicated for:
• Primary antiseptic dressing for minor burns, scalds, skin tears, abrasions, and traumatic lacerations
• Infection prevention and wound support for skin graft donor and recipient sites
• Prophylactic wound management for chronic leg ulcers, pressure sores (bedsores), diabetic foot ulcers, and post-surgical incision sites

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Cleanse the wound bed gently with sterile saline or water and pat the surrounding skin dry. Open the individual sterile pouch with clean hands or gloves and remove the protective paper backing. Place a single sheet of Biogras 10cm×10cm directly onto the wound surface. Cover with a secondary sterile absorbent dressing (such as sterile cotton gauze or pad) and secure with surgical tape or a retention bandage. Change the dressing every 1 to 3 days or as advised by a healthcare professional depending on exudate levels.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For external topical wound care only. Sterile until opened or damaged. Do not fold or stack multiple layers onto a single wound, as excessive density may block exudate drainage into the secondary dressing. Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine or Paraffin. Avoid contact with eyes, middle ear, brain tissue, or meninges. Do not use on severe, deep, or heavily exuding burns covering more than 10% of total body surface area without specialist medical supervision. Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
