Biogras 10cm×40cm 10s is a large-format sterile, non-adherent antiseptic tulle gras dressing impregnated with Chlorhexidine Acetate 0.5% in soft paraffin, designed to cover extensive wound areas, prevent infection, and enable pain-free dressing changes.

1

Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Biogras (10cm×40cm sterile gauze dressings, 10-pack) provides broad-coverage microbicidal protection and non-traumatic primary wound care for larger anatomical sites:
  • Broad-Spectrum Antimicrobial Protection (Chlorhexidine Acetate 0.5% w/w): Impregnated with chlorhexidine acetate, a proven topical antiseptic agent that disrupts microbial cell membranes, causing cell leakage and killing a wide spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens (including Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa).
  • Extended Non-Adherent Paraffin Tulle Base: The 10cm×40cm open-weave cotton gauze is coated with soft white paraffin, forming a non-adherent primary layer over extensive wound beds. This minimizes trauma, tearing of newly formed epithelium, and pain during removal.
  • Efficient Exudate Management: The leno-weave mesh design allows heavy wound secretions and exudate to drain freely into a secondary absorbent dressing, reducing tissue maceration and maintaining a healthy moist wound environment.

Clinical Indications

  • Biogras 10cm×40cm 10s is indicated for:
  • Primary antiseptic dressing for extensive partial-thickness burns, scalds, skin tears, and broad abrasions across limbs or torso
  • Infection prophylaxis and tissue protection for large skin graft donor and recipient sites
  • Topical wound management for wide chronic venous leg ulcers, extensive diabetic ulcers, pressure sores, and open post-surgical incisions

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Cleanse the wound surface thoroughly with sterile saline and gently dry the surrounding skin. Open the individual sterile foil pouch and remove protective paper sheets. Unfold and place the 10cm×40cm dressing directly onto the affected wound surface (it can be trimmed with sterile scissors if necessary). Secure with a secondary sterile absorbent pad or roll gauze and hold in place with surgical tape or a retention bandage. Dressings are typically changed every 1 to 3 days depending on clinical exudate levels.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For external topical wound care only. Sterile until pouch is damaged or opened. Do not overlap or layer multiple sheets excessively, as dense layering may block exudate drainage into the secondary dressing. Contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine or Paraffin. Avoid contact with eyes, middle ear, brain tissue, or meninges. Do not use on severe, full-thickness burns covering over 10% of total body surface area without specialized clinical management. Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place protected from direct heat and light. Keep out of reach of children.
