Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Bloatex 20mg Film-Coated Tablets (30-tablet pack) provides double-strength antispasmodic action targeting hyperactive smooth muscles throughout the gastrointestinal, biliary, and urogenital tracts:
• Targeted Anticholinergic Muscle Relaxation (Hyoscine Butylbromide 20mg): Competitively antagonizes muscarinic acetylcholine receptors on postganglionic parasympathetic nerve terminals within visceral smooth muscle. By blocking cholinergic signals, it halts involuntary muscle contractions and relaxes intestinal and biliary sphincters.
• Focused Visceral Action: Formulated as a quaternary ammonium derivative that does not cross the blood-brain barrier under therapeutic doses, concentrating its pharmacological activity directly on smooth muscle receptors in the abdomen while minimizing central nervous system side effects.
• Rapid Relief of Intestinal Pressure & Spasmodic Pain: Eases acute intestinal griping, facilitates the expulsion of trapped intestinal gas, and reduces elevated intraluminal pressure associated with severe abdominal distension.

Clinical Indications

• Bloatex 20mg Film-Coated Tablets 30s is indicated for:
• Treatment of acute, severe abdominal cramps, spasmodic pain, and visceral colic associated with gastroenteritis or functional digestive disorders
• Management of acute exacerbations of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and intestinal hypermotility
• Relief of severe dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps) and smooth muscle spasms of the renal or biliary systems

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Swallow tablets whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew the film-coated tablets.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults and Adolescents over 12 years: 1 tablet (20mg) 3 to 4 times daily as needed. For severe acute cramping, a single dose of up to 2 tablets (40mg) may be taken under medical guidance. Maximum daily dosage should not exceed 80mg (4 tablets per day).
• Children under 12 years: Not recommended in 20mg strength unless specifically prescribed by a physician.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For oral use only. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Contraindicated in patients with untreated narrow-angle glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, mechanical gastrointestinal stenosis/obstruction, paralytic ileus, severe megacolon, or urinary retention. Use with caution in patients prone to tachyarrhythmias, hyperthyroidism, prostatic hypertrophy, or elevated body temperature. Discontinue use and seek urgent medical evaluation if abdominal pain persists, worsens, or is accompanied by fever, vomiting, bloody stools, or severe dizziness. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a dry place protected from direct heat and light. Keep out of reach of children.
