Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Celestinac Tablets (30s) is an oral combination formulation indicated for acute or severe allergic and inflammatory disorders where single-agent antihistamines are insufficient. Its dual active ingredients provide synergistic anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory coverage:
• Betamethasone (0.25 mg): A potent synthetic glucocorticoid with pronounced anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It suppresses the transcription of pro-inflammatory cytokines, prevents vascular permeability, and reduces cellular exudation and leukocyte migration to inflamed tissues.
• Dexchlorpheniramine Maleate (2 mg): A potent first-generation H1-receptor antagonist. It competitively blocks histamine receptors on effector cells, rapidly reducing vascular dilation, itching, lacrimation, and excessive mucus secretion.
• Clinical Indications
• Celestinac Tablets 30s is indicated for the short-term management of severe or refractory allergic conditions, including:
• Severe or refractory seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
• Severe allergic skin conditions, including acute urticaria, contact dermatitis, eczema, and angioedema
• Inflammatory and allergic ocular disorders, such as allergic conjunctivitis and keratitis
• Severe allergic drug or food hypersensitivity reactions
• Adjunctive management of severe bronchial asthma with allergic components
• Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions
• Administration: Swallow tablets whole with water, preferably after meals or with food to minimize potential gastrointestinal upset.
• Recommended Dosage:
• Adults & Children over 12 years: 1 to 2 tablets taken 3 to 4 times daily as directed by a physician. Maximum daily limit is 8 tablets.
• Children 6–12 years: ½ tablet 3 times daily (maximum 4 tablets per day).
• Dose Tapering: As with all systemic corticosteroids, treatment duration should be kept as short as possible and discontinued gradually under medical supervision to avoid adrenal insufficiency.
• Contraindications: Contraindicated in patients with systemic fungal infections, acute viral infections, active peptic ulcer disease, or known hypersensitivity to betamethasone or dexchlorpheniramine.
• Precautions & Side Effects: May cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or dry mouth. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or consuming alcohol while taking this medication. Long-term use may cause corticosteroid-related side effects such as elevated blood pressure, fluid retention, or glucose intolerance.
