  • Central Prostaglandin Synthesis Inhibition (Paracetamol / Acetaminophen): Acts primarily in the central nervous system by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, decreasing prostaglandin synthesis. This elevates the pain threshold and produces effective analgesia for common pediatric ailments.
  • Antipyretic Thermoregulation: Acts directly on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center to induce peripheral vasodilation and sweating, facilitating rapid body heat dissipation to safely reduce elevated body temperatures.
  • Gentle Gastric Profile: Unlike non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, paracetamol does not inhibit peripheral COX-1 receptors or disrupt gastric mucosal barrier protection, minimizing the risk of stomach irritation.

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Administer orally using an accurate pediatric dosing syringe or measuring cup. Shake the bottle well before each use.

Recommended Dosage:

  • Dose is calculated primarily based on child weight ($10\text{--}15\text{ mg/kg}$ per dose) or age:
  • Children 6 to 12 years: 10ml to 20ml every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
  • Children 1 to 5 years: 5ml to 10ml every 4 to 6 hours as needed.Infants 3 to 12 months: 2.5ml to 5ml every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
  • Infants under 3 months: Strictly as directed by a pediatrician.
  • Maximum Limit: Do not exceed 4 doses in any 24-hour period.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose. Overdose may cause severe or fatal liver damage. Do not administer concurrently with any other paracetamol-containing products or over-the-counter flu remedies. Exercise caution in children with hepatic or severe renal impairment. Store below 25°C in a dry place protected from direct heat and light. Keep out of reach of children.
