Clob-B Cream 15g is a dual-action topical medication combining an antifungal (clotrimazole 1%) and a corticosteroid (beclomethasone dipropionate 0.025%) to eliminate fungal growth while rapidly soothing skin redness, swelling, and severe itching.

1

Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Clob-B Cream (15g) is a prescription topical therapeutic designed to treat skin conditions where a fungal infection is accompanied by moderate-to-severe inflammation. The cream delivers a synergistic dual-agent approach:
  • Clotrimazole (1% w/w): A broad-spectrum synthetic azole antifungal. It works by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a key component of the fungal cell membrane. This disrupts membrane integrity, leading to cellular leakage and fungal cell death.
  • Beclomethasone Dipropionate (0.025% w/w): A potent topical glucocorticoid. It inhibits the synthesis and release of inflammatory chemical mediators (such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes), effectively suppressing local immune responses to relieve skin swelling, heat, redness, and itching.
  • Clinical Indications
  • Clob-B Cream is indicated for superficial, inflamed fungal dermatoses, including:
  • Tinea Corporis (Ringworm of the body)
  • Tinea Cruris (Jock itch)Tinea Pedis (Athlete's foot)
  • Cutaneous Candidiasis (Yeast infections of skin folds)
  • Inflammatory Eczema or Dermatitis secondary to dermatophyte or yeast infections
  • Application Guidance & Precautions
  • Usage: Clean and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer, gently rubbing it in until absorbed. Typically applied 1 to 2 times daily as prescribed.
  • Duration: Recommended for short-term continuous use (usually up to 2 weeks for tinea cruris/corporis and up to 4 weeks for tinea pedis).
  • Precautions: For external topical use only. Do not apply near eyes, mouth, open wounds, or inside mucous membranes. Avoid covering treated areas with airtight or occlusive bandages unless directed by a doctor. Prolonged use on facial or delicate skin should be avoided to prevent skin thinning (atrophy) or systemic corticosteroid absorption.
