Clozole Cream 20g is a broad-spectrum topical antifungal formulation containing Clotrimazole (1% w/w) engineered to rapidly eradicate dermatophyte, yeast, and fungal skin infections while soothing localized itching, scaling, and redness.

Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Clozole Cream (20g tube) provides targeted antimycotic action designed to eliminate fungal pathogens at the site of infection and restore skin barrier integrity:
  • Inhibition of Ergosterol Biosynthesis (Clotrimazole 1% w/w): Inhibits the fungal cytochrome P450-dependent enzyme 14-alpha-demethylase, disrupting the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol. This depletes ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane, causing structural instability, membrane permeability, and cellular lysis.
  • Broad-Spectrum Antimycotic Activity: Effectively eradicates dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton species), yeasts (Candida albicans), and Malassezia furfur, while possessing mild antibacterial activity against certain Gram-positive cutaneous bacteria (Corynebacterium).
  • Targeted Dermal Absorption: Formulated in an emollient cream base that deeply penetrates keratinized epidermal layers to neutralize localized fungal hyphae without significant systemic vascular absorption.

Clinical Indications

  • Clozole Cream 20g is indicated for:
  • Treatment of superficial dermatophyte infections including athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis)
  • Management of cutaneous candidiasis, Candida intertrigo, skin-fold fungal infections, and pityriasis versicolor (tinea versicolor)
  • Symptomatic relief of accompanying fungal skin irritation, persistent itching, burning sensations, scaling, and cracking

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Wash the affected skin thoroughly with mild soap and water, and pat completely dry.
  • Apply a thin layer of Clozole Cream to the affected area and surrounding skin twice daily (morning and evening).
  • Rub in gently until absorbed.

Recommended Duration:

  • Continue treatment for 2 to 4 weeks (depending on infection location) even after clinical symptoms clear, to prevent fungal relapse.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For external dermatological use only; avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and open deep wounds. Discontinue use if localized hypersensitivity, severe burning, or skin rash develops. Store below 25°C in a dry place protected from direct heat. Keep out of reach of children.
