How to Conduct a Test Correctly

• Lance Your Fingertip: Form a Droplet. Use a fresh sterile lancet inside your lancing device to puncture the side of your fingertip, which contains fewer nerve endings than the pad. Gently massage your finger toward the tip to form a small, rounded droplet of blood.
• Apply Blood to the Strip Tip: Sip-In Sampling Action. Touch the very tip of the test strip directly to the blood drop. The strip will automatically draw the blood up into the chamber. Hold it there until the meter beeps and begins a 5-second countdown on the screen.
