Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Hitoral Soap ($100\text{g}$ cleansing bar containing Ketoconazole $2\%\text{ w/w}$) provides targeted antimycotic action against superficial fungal skin pathogens:
• Ergosterol Biosynthesis Inhibition: Ketoconazole selectively inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-dependent $14\alpha$-demethylase enzyme. This blocks the conversion of lanosterol to ergosterol—an essential sterol component of fungal cell membranes.
• Membrane Rupture & Fungicidal Action: Ergosterol depletion leads to structural membrane damage, accumulation of toxic methylsterols, increased cellular permeability, and osmotic lysis of vulnerable fungal organisms.
• Symptomatic Itch & Flaking Suppression: Rapidly suppresses colonization by Malassezia species and dermatophytes, resolving superficial inflammation, localized redness, desquamation (flaking), and intense pruritus.

Clinical Indications & Uses

• Hitoral Soap 100g is indicated for:
• Topical treatment and management of superficial fungal skin infections, including tinea versicolor, tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), and tinea pedis (athlete's foot)
• Adjunctive care for seborrheic dermatitis, fungal folliculitis, and localized cutaneous candidiasis
• Preventing recurrent fungal skin infections in individuals prone to hyperhidrosis, high humidity exposure, or athletic activity

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Wet affected skin areas thoroughly with lukewarm water. Rub Hitoral Soap gently to work up a rich, creamy lather. Apply the lather evenly over affected regions and allow it to remain on the skin for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing off completely with clean water.

Recommended Dosage:

• Active Infection: Apply 1 to 2 times daily for 2 to 4 weeks, or as directed by a dermatologist.
• Maintenance/Prevention: Use 1 to 2 times weekly to prevent recurrence.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For external dermatological use only. Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and inflamed mucous membranes; if contact occurs, flush thoroughly with copious amounts of water. Discontinue use if localized skin irritation, burning sensation, or allergic contact dermatitis develops. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a dry soap dish away from direct water accumulation to maintain bar integrity. Keep out of reach of children.
