Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Intamine Cream ($25\text{g}$ tube) provides targeted, localized relief from histamine-mediated dermal inflammation:
• Competitive $\text{H}_1$-Receptor Antagonism: Actively blocks peripheral histamine $\text{H}_1$ receptor sites on cutaneous microvasculature and dermal nerve fibers during acute local hypersensitivity reactions.
• Inhibition of Vascular Permeability & Flares: Prevents histamine-induced capillary dilation and fluid extravasation, rapidly reducing local tissue swelling (wheal formation), erythema (redness), and cutaneous flare reactions.
• Pruritic Impulse Suppression: Mitigates direct histamine stimulation on unmyelinated C-type sensory nerve endings in the dermis, stopping the transmission of itch signals to the central nervous system.

Clinical Indications & Uses

• Intamine Cream 25g is indicated for:
• Relief of localized itching, pain, and swelling from insect bites, mosquito bites, and bee or wasp stings
• Symptomatic treatment of localized allergic skin eruptions, mild hives (urticaria), nettle stings, and plant contact irritation
• Soothing minor burns, sunburn discomfort, and localized pruritic dermatoses

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Wash and dry the affected area gently. Apply a thin layer of cream to the localized itchy or irritated skin and rub in smoothly.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults and Children: Apply 2 to 3 times daily as needed. Do not use continuously for more than 3 consecutive days without medical advice.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For external topical application only. Do not apply to broken skin, open wounds, weeping eczema, or large areas of the body to avoid systemic absorption. May cause cutaneous photosensitivity; avoid direct sunlight exposure on treated skin areas. Discontinue immediately if local skin sensitization or contact rash develops. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
