Pyridoxine 50mg Tablets 100s delivers essential Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) to support healthy nerve function, promote neurotransmitter synthesis, reduce drug-induced neuropathy risks, and aid red blood cell formation.

1

Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Pyridoxine 50mg Tablets bottle supplying of Pyridoxine Hydrochloride per tablet) serves as a key metabolic micronutrient for nervous system, hematological, and cellular processes:
  • Coenzyme Activation (Pyridoxal 5-Phosphate -: Converted in the liver to its biologically active coenzyme form, pyridoxal 5-phosphate, which acts as an essential cofactor in over 100 enzymatic reactions involving amino acid metabolism, gluconeogenesis, and lipid utilization.
  • Neurotransmitter Synthesis & Peripheral Nerve Integrity: Functions as an obligate cofactor for amino acid decarboxylases that synthesize central neurotransmitters, including serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, and -aminobutyric acid. It protects peripheral nerve axons against toxic depletion during anti-tuberculosis therapy (such as Isoniazid).
  • Heme Synthesis & Homocysteine Clearance: Acts as a coenzyme for-aminolevulinic acid synthase in early hemoglobin formation within erythroid progenitor cells, while facilitating the transsulfuration of homocysteine to cysteine to protect microvascular endothelial walls.

Clinical Indications & Uses

  • Pyridoxine 50mg Tablets 100s is indicated for:
  • Prevention and treatment of clinical Vitamin B6 deficiency caused by inadequate dietary intake, malabsorption syndromes, or chronic alcoholism
  • Prophylaxis and management of drug-induced peripheral neuropathy in patients receiving isoniazid, penicillamine, or hydralazine
  • Adjunctive management for premenstrual tension syndrome (PMS), morning sickness (nausea and vomiting of pregnancy), and idiopathic sideroblastic anemia

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Swallow 1 tablet daily with water, preferably during or after a meal to optimize intestinal absorption and minimize gastric upset.

Recommended Dosage:

  • Adults: 1 tablet daily for routine supplementation or drug-induced neuropathy prophylaxis, or as individually directed by a prescribing physician for therapeutic indications.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For oral consumption only. Avoid long-term administration of excessive doses without medical supervision, as chronic hyperdosing can cause peripheral sensory neuropathy, numbness, and gait ataxia. Pyridoxine reduces the therapeutic antiparkinsonian effects of Levodopa when given without a peripheral dopa-decarboxylase inhibitor (such as Carbidopa). Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a cool, dry place protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
