Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Aerius Syrup (60ml bottle) is an oral antihistamine formulation designed for non-drowsy, once-daily management of upper respiratory and dermatological allergic symptoms:
• Selective Histamine -Receptor Antagonism (Desloratadine 0.5mg/ml): Functions as a potent, long-acting peripheral-receptor antagonist. By blocking endogenous histamine from binding to vascular and mucosal receptors, it halts the allergic cascade responsible for vascular permeability, tissue edema, and sensory nerve irritation.
• Anti-Inflammatory Cascade Suppression: Inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-13) and chemokines from human mast cells and basophils, providing anti-inflammatory protection beyond simple histamine blockade.
• Non-Sedating Central Nervous System Profile: Exhibits low affinity for central nervous system-receptors and minimal blood-brain barrier penetration, delivering continuous 24-hour allergy control without causing daytime somnolence or performance impairment.

Clinical Indications

• Aerius Syrup 60ml is indicated for:
• Symptomatic relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and perennial allergic rhinitis, including nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea (runny nose), and nasal itching
• Relief of ocular allergic symptoms such as itching, tearing, and redness (allergic conjunctivitis)
• Management of chronic idiopathic urticaria, relieving persistent skin itching, wheals, and localized hives

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Administer orally using the included dosing syringe or measuring spoon. May be taken with or without food at any time of day.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults & Adolescents (12 years and older): 10ml once daily.
• Children 6 to 11 years: 5ml once daily.Children 1 to 5 years: 2.5ml once daily.
• Children 6 to 11 months: 2ml once daily.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Use with caution in patients with severe renal impairment (dosage adjustment may be required). Although generally non-drowsy, individual responses vary; exercise caution before driving or operating machinery until personal response is established. Store below 25°C in a dry place protected from direct light and excessive heat. Keep out of reach of children.
