Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Alcohol Swabs 100s (box containing 100 individually sealed foil pouches) provides convenient, single-use skin sanitization and antiseptic protection:
• Broad-Spectrum Microbicidal Action (70% Isopropyl Alcohol): Saturated with 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA), which represents the optimal concentration for germicidal efficacy. Water present in the 70% solution slows evaporation and allows alcohol to penetrate bacterial cell walls, rapidly denaturing microbial proteins and dissolving lipid membranes.
• Rapid Antimicrobial Disinfection: Effectively destroys up to 99.9% of vegetative Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and lipid-enveloped viruses (including influenza and HIV) within 15 seconds of contact.
• Absorbent Non-Woven Material: Soft, 2-ply lint-free non-woven cotton pads ensure maximum liquid retention, friction-assisted debris removal, and comfortable application without leaving fibrous residue on skin or injection sites.

Clinical Indications

• Alcohol Swabs 100s are indicated for:
• Cleansing and preparing the skin prior to subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous injections (e.g., insulin administration, vaccination)
• Disinfecting finger-prick sites prior to blood glucose monitoring or capillary blood sampling
• Sanitizing minor cuts, scrapes, insect bites, and superficial abrasions to prevent secondary bacterial infection
• Wiping and sterilizing small medical instruments, thermometer probes, stethoscope diaphragms, and lancing device caps

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Tear open an individual foil packet. Remove the alcohol swab and thoroughly wipe the target skin area or surface. Allow the area to air-dry completely (approximately 10–15 seconds) prior to skin puncture to ensure full microbicidal action and prevent stinging. Discard swab immediately after single use.

Recommended Dosage:

• Use 1 sterile swab per application site or procedure as needed.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For external topical use only. Flammable: Keep away from open flames, sparks, and heat sources. Do not apply to severe burns, deep puncture wounds, animal bites, or mucosal membranes (eyes, nose, mouth). Discontinue use if excessive skin drying, redness, or irritation develops. Store below 25°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
