Overview & Features

  • Cotton Wool (400g economy roll) is a fundamental medical-grade consumable manufactured from 100% natural, highly bleached, and carded cotton fibers:
  • High Fluid Absorbency: Engineered with high-capillarity cotton fibers capable of rapidly absorbing and retaining liquids, blood, and wound exudates, making it indispensable for clinical and surgical dressing procedures.
  • Soft & Non-Irritating Texture: Free from synthetic impurities, harsh chemical residues, and optical brighteners. Its extra-soft, gentle texture minimizes tissue friction and skin irritation when cleansing sensitive, raw, or wounded dermal tissue.
  • Versatile Utility: Easily separable into customizable sizes and shapes (balls, pads, or rolls) for localized application of liquid antiseptics, astringents, and ointments, as well as cosmetic and infant care.

Clinical Indications

  • Cotton Wool 400g is indicated for:
  • Cleansing and swabbing minor cuts, scrapes, surgical incisions, and traumatic wounds prior to dressing application
  • Applying topical antiseptics (e.g., Povidone-Iodine, Hydrogen Peroxide, Surgical Spirit) to intact or broken skin
  • Absorbing bodily fluids, blood, and discharge during clinical, dental, or minor surgical procedures
  • General pediatric care, delicate skin cleansing, and cosmetic application or makeup removal

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Tear or unroll the required quantity of cotton wool with clean, sanitized hands or sterile forceps. Moisten with sterile saline, water, or an appropriate antiseptic solution to cleanse wounds or apply topical treatments. Dispose of used cotton wool in a suitable waste container after single use.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For external use only. Note that standard roll cotton wool is non-sterile; for invasive surgical procedures or deep open wounds requiring sterile technique, ensure the material is autoclaved or use pre-sterilized cotton swabs/dressings. Do not place dry cotton wool directly onto open, sticky, or heavily exuding wounds without a non-adherent primary contact layer, as fibers may adhere to regenerating tissue and delay healing. Store in a clean, dry place protected from dust, moisture, and contamination. Keep out of reach of children.
