Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Rhinovin Adult Nasal Drops ($10\text{ml}$ dropper bottle containing $0.1\%$ Xylometazoline Hydrochloride) acts directly on the vascular smooth muscle of the upper respiratory tract to restore nasal airflow within minutes:
• Targeted Vasoconstriction ($\alpha$-Adrenergic Agonism): Directly stimulates $\alpha_1$ and $\alpha_2$ adrenergic receptors on mucosal arterioles within the nasal turbinates. This induces localized vasoconstriction, reducing capillary engorgement, edema, and fluid extravasation in nasal tissues.
• Airway Decongestion & Secretion Clearance: Reduces mucosal swelling and airway resistance, opening congested nasal passages and facilitating drainage of trapped sinus mucus without causing systemic CNS excitation.
• Eustachian Tube Unblocking: Promotes clearance of the Eustachian tube during middle ear inflammation or pressure changes, relieving secondary ear fullness associated with upper respiratory tract infections.

Clinical Indications & Uses

• Rhinovin Adult Nasal Drops 10ml is indicated for:
• Rapid relief of nasal congestion associated with the common cold, acute/chronic sinusitis, influenza, and upper respiratory tract allergies
• Facilitation of sinus fluid drainage during acute paranasal sinus inflammation
• Adjunctive management of otitis media by clearing Eustachian tube obstruction, and pre-procedural decongestion prior to rhinological examination

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Tilt the head slightly backward. Instill 2 to 3 drops into each nostril while breathing in gently. Clean the dropper tip after each application.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults and Children over 12 years: Instill 2 to 3 drops in each nostril up to 3 times daily as needed. Maintain an interval of 8 to 10 hours between doses.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For nasal administration only. Do not use continuously for more than 5 to 7 consecutive days to avoid rhinitis medicamentosa (rebound hyperemic congestion). Contraindicated in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, transsphenoidal hypophysectomy, or dry nasal inflammation (rhinitis sicca). Use with caution in individuals with severe cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, or diabetes mellitus. Do not share the bottle between users to prevent cross-infection. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a cool, dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
