Acirax Acyclovir Cream 10g is a topical antiviral medicine containing acyclovir 5% w/w, equivalent to 50mg of acyclovir per gram of cream. It is used to treat certain skin infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, particularly cold sores affecting the lips and surrounding facial skin. Acyclovir works by interfering with viral multiplication, helping reduce the severity and duration of an outbreak when treatment is started early.

The cream is intended for targeted application to affected external skin areas according to the product label or a healthcare professional's instructions. Starting treatment at the first signs of a cold sore, such as tingling, itching, redness or burning, may improve its effectiveness.
