Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Cetrihist Expectorant (60ml) is an oral liquid combination formula designed to manage wet coughs complicated by allergic respiratory symptoms. By pairing a second-generation antihistamine with active expectorant and mucolytic agents, it provides dual-action airway clearance:
• Cetirizine Hydrochloride: A selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist that blocks histamine-induced airway reactivity, reducing allergic swelling in the nasal and bronchial passages, throat tickle, and excess mucosal secretions with minimal drowsiness.
• Expectorant & Mucolytic Active Complex (e.g., Ambroxol / Guaiphenesin / Menthol): Works to break down and liquefy thick, sticky mucous secretions within the tracheobronchial tract. It enhances mucociliary transport, allowing accumulated phlegm to be cleared easily through natural coughing.
• Soothing Airway Action: Soothes irritated pharyngeal mucosa and reduces upper respiratory airway resistance to promote comfortable breathing.

• Cetrihist Expectorant 60ml is indicated for:
• Symptomatic relief of productive (wet) cough associated with chest congestion and thick mucus build-up
• Acute and chronic allergic bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, and bronchial asthma exacerbations with hypersecretion
• Cough accompanied by seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis, post-nasal drip, and sneezing
• Easing respiratory tract congestion during viral upper respiratory infections
• Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions
• Administration: Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use. Measure the recommended dose using a calibrated measuring cup or spoon.
• Recommended Dosage:
• Adults & Children over 12 years: 10 ml taken 2 to 3 times daily.
• Children (6–12 years): 5 ml taken 2 to 3 times daily.
• Children (2–6 years): 2.5 ml taken twice daily (under medical supervision).
• Precautions & Warnings: Generally well tolerated. Although non-sedating for most users, mild drowsiness may occur in sensitive individuals. Use with caution in patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment, gastric ulcer disease, or cardiac conditions.
