Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Cheriflu Plus Tablets (10s) is an oral multi-symptom cold and flu therapy designed to provide rapid relief from upper respiratory congestion and viral flu symptoms. Its synergistic active formulation targets multiple symptoms simultaneously:
  • Paracetamol (500 mg): A central analgesic and antipyretic that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system to lower fever, ease headaches, soothe sore throat discomfort, and relieve muscle aches.
  • Phenylephrine Hydrochloride / Decongestant: A sympathomimetic agent that stimulates alpha-adrenergic receptors, causing vasoconstriction of dilated nasal mucosal blood vessels. This reduces tissue swelling, relieves sinus pressure, and restores clear airflow through congested nasal passages.
  • Chlorpheniramine Maleate: A first-generation H1-receptor antihistamine that competitively blocks histamine receptors, stopping allergic symptoms, continuous sneezing, rhinorrhea (runny nose), and watery eyes.
  • Clinical Indications
  • Cheriflu Plus Tablets 10s is indicated for the short-term relief of:
  • Fever, chills, and systemic body aches associated with the common cold and flu
  • Headaches, sinus pressure, and sinus congestion
  • Nasal congestion, stuffy nose, and blocked airways
  • Allergic rhinitis symptoms, including excessive sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes
  • Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions
  • Administration: Swallow tablets whole with a full glass of water, preferably after food.
  • Recommended Dosage:
  • Adults & Children (over 12 years): 1 to 2 tablets taken every 6 to 8 hours as needed. Do not exceed 8 tablets in any 24-hour period.
  • Children under 12 years: Not recommended unless under direct medical supervision.
  • Precautions & Warnings: Do not take concurrently with other paracetamol-containing products to avoid accidental liver toxicity. May cause drowsiness or sedation; avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or drinking alcohol while using this medication. Use with caution in individuals with hypertension, cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, or severe hepatic/renal impairment.
