Coferb Cough Drops 20ml is a natural, non-sedating herbal preparation formulated with Ivy Leaf extract (Hedera helix) to loosen thick mucus, open bronchial airways, and ease productive coughs and chest congestion.

Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Coferb Cough Drops (20ml) is a plant-based therapeutic formulated specifically for respiratory tract discomfort accompanied by hypersecretion of mucus. Its primary therapeutic action stems from standardized Ivy Leaf Extract (Hedera helix):
  • Mucolytic & Secretolytic Action: Saponins present in Ivy Leaf (such as alpha-hederin) decrease the viscosity of tenacious bronchial secretions, breaking down thick phlegm so it can be cleared more easily through coughing.
  • Bronchodilatory & Spasmolytic Effect: Relaxes smooth muscle tissues in the bronchial passages, widening airflow channels to restore effortless breathing and reduce spasms that trigger painful coughing fits.
  • Soothing Antitussive Effect: Calms local membrane irritation in the throat and upper respiratory tract without suppressing the central nervous system or inducing drowsiness.
  • Clinical Indications
  • Coferb Cough Drops 20ml is indicated for the management of acute and subacute respiratory conditions, including:
  • Productive (wet) coughs associated with upper respiratory viral infections
  • Acute bronchitis and flare-ups of chronic inflammatory bronchial disorders
  • Chest tightness and airway blockage caused by dense phlegm build-up
  • Tickling sore throat and tracheal irritation secondary to frequent coughing
  • Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions
  • Administration: Shake well before use. Administer orally either directly or diluted in a small glass of water. The included dropper bottle enables accurate dosing for both pediatric patients and adults.
  • Duration: Recommended treatment duration should extend for at least 1 week, even for minor respiratory tract inflammation, and continue for 2–3 days after symptoms resolve to prevent relapse.
  • Precautions: Generally well tolerated. Contraindicated in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to Ivy Leaf or related plants. If symptoms persist, or if purulent sputum, high fever, or severe shortness of breath occurs, consult a physician immediately.
