Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Cofta Tablets (bulk bottle/box of 100 tablets) provides synergistic respiratory relief designed to clear airways and soothe bronchial irritation:
• Expectorant & Mucus Disruption (Guaifenesin): Increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of tenacious respiratory tract secretions. By liquefying thick phlegm within the bronchial tree, it transforms dry, non-productive coughing into effective, cleansing coughs that clear the airway.
• Bronchodilation & Airway Relaxation (Ephedrine HCl): Functions as a sympathomimetic amine that stimulates adrenergic receptors on bronchial smooth muscle. This induces bronchodilation, expands narrowed airway passages, relieves chest tightness, and restores normal breathing capacity during acute respiratory congestion.
• Mucociliary Clearance Facilitation: Enhances natural ciliary movement along the respiratory epithelium, accelerating the upward transport and expulsion of accumulated mucus and bronchial irritants.

Clinical Indications

• Cofta Tablets 100s is indicated for:
• Symptomatic management of chesty, productive coughs associated with the common cold, influenza, and upper respiratory tract infections
• Relief of bronchial congestion, wheezing, and chest tightness due to mild bronchitis or environmental irritants
• Facilitating airway clearance in conditions characterized by hyperviscous mucus production

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Take orally with a full glass of water. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day to support the mucus-thinning effect of the expectorant.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults & Children over 12 years: 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
• Maximum Daily Limit: Do not exceed 8 tablets in any 24-hour period.
• Children under 12 years: Not recommended unless specifically prescribed by a medical doctor.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, or prostatic enlargement due to sympathomimetic effects. May cause mild central nervous system stimulation, nervousness, or insomnia; avoid taking late in the evening. Do not combine with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or other sympathomimetic decongestants. Store below 25°C in a dry place protected from direct heat and light. Keep out of reach of children.
