Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Coscof Expectorant (100ml) is an oral combination liquid preparation engineered to clear stubborn phlegm and soothe upper respiratory distress associated with productive coughs:
• Expectorant & Mucolytic Complex (e.g., Guaifenesin / Ammonium Chloride): Increases the fluidity and volume of bronchial secretions. By reducing the viscosity of dense mucus, it enables natural ciliary motion to expel phlegm from the bronchial tract more efficiently during coughing.
• Chlorpheniramine Maleate: A first-generation H1-receptor antihistamine that blocks histamine activity, relieving associated allergic symptoms such as sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose, and local throat tickling.
• Soothing Demulcent Vehicle: Coats and calms inflamed throat tissues raw from persistent coughing.
• Clinical Indications
• Coscof Expectorant 100ml is indicated for:
• Symptomatic management of productive (wet) coughs with excessive, thick phlegm
• Relief of chest congestion and airway tightness in acute bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, or viral colds
• Easing respiratory discomfort and cough fits due to seasonal allergic rhinitis
• Facilitating bronchial airway clearance in respiratory tract infections
• Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions
• Administration: Shake the bottle thoroughly before each dose. Measure accurately using a dosing spoon or calibrated cup.
• Recommended Dosage:
• Children (6–12 years): 2.5 ml to 5 ml three times daily or as prescribed by a medical doctor.
• Adults & Adolescents (over 12 years): 5 ml to 10 ml three to four times daily (do not exceed the maximum daily dosage).
• Precautions & Warnings: May cause mild sedation or drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected. Do not combine with other antihistamines, sedative medications, or excessive alcohol. Use with caution in individuals with severe asthma, high blood pressure, or liver impairment.
