Nurturing Baby's Milestones Through the Weaning Stage

Between 6 and 12 months, your baby undergoes rapid physical growth and cognitive expansion, which significantly changes their daily nutritional requirements. Cow & Gate Follow-Up Formula Stage 2 acts as a reliable nutritional companion during this weaning phase. Made with high-quality ingredients sourced from grass-fed dairy farms, this formula ensures that your little adventurer receives well-balanced macronutrients that are perfectly balanced for their delicate digestive tract.

Key Nutritional Benefits

  • Iron Fortification: Delivers essential iron elements necessary for oxygen transport and the healthy advancement of cognitive processing skills.
  • DHA (Omega-3 Long-Chain Fatty Acids): Integrates vital fatty compounds derived from fish oil that are biologically key to early retina and brain structure maturation.
  • Bone Growth Accelerators: Combines an optimal ratio of Calcium and Phosphorus alongside Vitamin D3 to ensure maximum mineralization of developing skeletal frameworks.
  • Multi-Vitamin Shield: Infused with Vitamins A, C, and E to protect cells against oxidative strain and reinforce natural immune defenses.

Safe and Sterile Preparation Guide

To ensure your infant's safety and avoid contamination, it is vital to follow these preparation guidelines precisely. Never make feeds stronger or weaker than indicated unless explicitly advised by a medical professional.

  • Wash Hands and Sterilize Equipment: Sanitization Foundation. Thoroughly wash your hands with warm water and soap. Sterilize your baby's feeding cup, bottle, teat, and all preparation utensils by boiling them in clean water for at least 10 minutes or using an approved steam sterilizer.
  • Boil and Cool Fresh Water: Water Preparation. Boil fresh, clean drinking water for 10 minutes, then let it cool down in the kettle until it reaches a lukewarm temperature (roughly 40 degrees Celsius). Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.
  • Measure Water and Level Scoops: Accurate Dosing. Consult the feeding guide on the container. Pour the exact amount of cooled, lukewarm water into the sterilized bottle or beaker. Use only the enclosed scoop to loosely fill it with powder, then level it off cleanly with a clean knife edge. Do not press or heap the powder.
  • Mix the Powder Thoroughly: Dissolution Action. Add the correct number of level scoops to the water. Secure the cap onto the bottle or beaker and shake vigorously or stir thoroughly for about 30 seconds until the powder is fully dissolved and no clumps remain.
  • Check Temperature Before Feeding: Safety Verification. Cool the prepared feed under running tap water if necessary. Always test the liquid's temperature by dropping a few droplets onto the inside of your wrist—it should feel comfortably warm, never hot. Feed immediately.

Critical Storage and Health Guidance

Important Notice on Infant Feeding: Breastfeeding is the absolute best and most natural source of nutrition for babies. Cow & Gate Stage 2 Follow-Up milk is designed specifically for infants from 6 months onwards as part of a mixed weaning diet and must never be used as a breastmilk substitute during the first 6 months of life. Consult your pediatrician or health visitor before introducing alternative milks.

  • Feeding Hygiene: For hygiene reasons, always discard any unfinished formula remaining inside your baby's feeding beaker within 2 hours of preparation. Never store leftovers in the refrigerator for a later feed.
  • Powder Storage: Store the closed tin in a cool, dry room. Do not refrigerate or freeze the powder container.
  • Consumption Timeline: Once the protective foil seal is broken, keep the container tightly covered with its plastic lid and use all remaining powder contents within 4 weeks.
  • Heating Caution: Never use a microwave oven to heat up or prepare formula feeds. This can create dangerous localized hot spots within the liquid that could severely scald your infant's mouth.
