Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Deep Freeze Cold Gel (35g tube) provides targeted cold therapy (cryotherapy) directly to painful, swollen, or inflamed muscles and joints:
• Cryotherapy & Local Vasoconstriction (Levomenthol 2% w/w): Rapidly lowers local skin surface temperature, inducing superficial microvascular constriction. This limits local tissue hyperemia, reduces capillary permeability, and helps minimize acute swelling and fluid effusion.
• Sensory Gate Control Mechanism ($TRPM8$ Receptor Activation): Menthol selectively activates cold-sensitive thermoreceptors ($TRPM8$) on cutaneous nerve endings. This produces an intense cooling sensation that desensitizes peripheral nociceptors and interrupts the transmission of acute pain impulses along $A\delta$ and $C$ nerve fibers.
• Targeted Soothing Action for Spasms: Rapid cooling helps relax tight, reflexively contracting muscle fibers around acute injuries, reducing localized muscle spasms and restoring range of motion.

Clinical Indications

• Deep Freeze Cold Gel 35g is indicated for:
• Fast cooling pain relief for acute athletic injuries, soft tissue contusions, sprains, strains, and swelling
• Management of localized back pain (lumbago), neck and shoulder stiffness, and rheumatic joint pain
• Post-exercise muscle recovery to soothe overworked muscles and reduce delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Gently apply a thin layer of gel to the affected painful area 3 to 4 times daily as needed. Massage lightly until absorbed. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after application, unless treating the hands.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For external topical use only on intact skin. Do not apply to broken, open, or severely irritated skin, or near the eyes and sensitive mucous membranes. Do not wrap tightly with occlusive dressings or combine with external heat sources (e.g., heating pads). Discontinue immediately if severe skin irritation, redness, or rash develops. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a cool, dry place away from direct heat. Keep out of reach of children.
