Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Dekozi Expectorant Syrup (100ml bottle) combines active mucolytic expectorants with soothing agents designed to break down thick pulmonary secretions and ease bronchial elimination:
  • Expectorant & Secretion Liquefaction (Guaifenesin & Ammonium Chloride): Stimulates fluid accumulation in the respiratory tract and reduces the adhesion of sticky bronchial mucus, thinning phlegm so it can be easily coughed up and cleared from the airways.
  • Antihistaminic & Reflex Suppression (Diphenhydramine HCl): Blocks peripheral histamine receptors to attenuate post-nasal drip, calm hyper-reactive cough signals, and soothe allergic pharyngeal irritation.
  • Cooling Demulcent Action (Menthol & Sodium Citrate): Imparts a soothing, cooling effect directly to inflamed throat and tracheal tissues, blunting nerve sensitivity to provide immediate comfort from persistent coughing fits.

  • Dekozi Expectorant Syrup 100ml is indicated for:
  • Symptomatic relief of chesty, productive coughs accompanied by viscous phlegm and bronchial congestion
  • Facilitating the clearance of trapped mucus during common colds, seasonal influenza, acute bronchitis, and tracheobronchitis
  • Soothing persistent throat tickle, pharyngeal irritation, and chest tightness from frequent sputum expectoration

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Shake the bottle thoroughly before each dose. Measure doses using a calibrated measuring cup or spoon.

Recommended Dosage:

  • Adults and Adolescents over 12 years: 10ml to 20ml every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 80ml in a 24-hour period.
  • Children 6–12 years: 5ml to 10ml every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
  • Children under 6 years: Consult a healthcare professional prior to use.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For oral administration only. May cause mild drowsiness or lightheadedness; exercise caution when driving or operating machinery. Maintain adequate fluid intake to assist in liquefying airway mucus. Avoid concurrent alcohol consumption or central nervous system depressants. Consult a physician if cough persists for more than 7 days, recurs, or is accompanied by high fever, rash, or persistent headache. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and light. Keep out of reach of children.
