Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Flemnil Expectorant Syrup (120ml bottle) provides targeted, multi-pathway relief for wet coughs and chest congestion through three synergistic pharmacological actions:
• Mucolytic Secretion Breakdown (Ambroxol / Bromhexine Hydrochloride): Cleaves acid mucopolysaccharide fibers in thick, sticky bronchial mucus, reducing sputum viscosity and liquefying tenacious phlegm so it can be easily cleared from the respiratory tract.
• Expectorant & Secretomotor Stimulation (Guaifenesin): Increases the volume and water content of bronchial secretions while reducing mucus adhesiveness. This enhances ciliary transport mechanism efficiency and promotes effective, productive coughing.
• Bronchodilator Airway Relaxation (Terbutaline Sulfate / Salbutamol): Acts as a selective $\beta_2$-adrenergic receptor agonist that relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, counteracting bronchospasm, opening narrowed airways, and restoring smooth, unhindered breathing.
• Airway Cooling (Menthol): Stimulates sensory cold receptors in respiratory membranes to provide a soothing cooling sensation, dulling local throat irritation and chest tightness.

Clinical Indications

• Flemnil Expectorant Syrup 120ml is indicated for:
• Symptomatic relief of wet, chesty, productive coughs associated with upper and lower respiratory tract infections
• Management of mucus hypersecretion and bronchospasm in conditions such as acute bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Facilitating airway clearance and sputum expulsion in smoker's cough, bronchiectasis, and tracheobronchitis

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Shake the bottle well before each use. Measure the required dose using a calibrated oral dosing cup or spoon. May be taken with or without food. Drinking plenty of water during treatment is recommended to help loosen mucus.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults & Adolescents (12 years and older): 10ml to 15ml three times daily, or strictly as directed by a healthcare professional.
• Children 6 to 11 years: 5ml three times daily.
• Children under 6 years: Not recommended unless specifically prescribed by a pediatrician.

Precautions & Warnings:

• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, or a history of peptic ulcer disease (mucolytics and expectorants may irritate the gastric mucosa). May cause mild side effects including fine muscular tremors, mild tachycardia, or gastrointestinal upset. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a dry place protected from direct heat and light.
