Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Panadol Cold & Flu Tablets (24s pack) is a triple-action cold and flu management formulation engineered to address major upper respiratory viral symptoms:
  • Analgesic & Antipyretic Action (Paracetamol): Inhibits central prostaglandin synthesis within the central nervous system to raise the systemic pain threshold and act on the hypothalamic thermoregulatory center, effectively relieving fever, sinus headaches, sore throat, and general muscle aches.
  • Nasal & Sinus Decongestion (Phenylephrine HCl): Acts as a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist, causing vasoconstriction of dilated blood vessels in the nasal and sinus mucosa. This reduces tissue swelling, drains sinus congestion, and restores unobstructed nasal breathing.
  • Antihistamine & Secretion Control (Chlorpheniramine Maleate): Competitively blocks $H_1$ histamine receptors to suppress allergic inflammatory responses, rapidly stopping watery eyes, persistent sneezing, and excessive mucous discharge (rhinorrhea).

  • Panadol Cold & Flu Tablets 24s is indicated for:
  • Symptomatic relief of acute common cold, influenza, and seasonal viral upper respiratory infections
  • Relief of nasal and sinus congestion, facial pressure, and sinus headaches
  • Reduction of elevated body temperature (fever), chills, body aches, joint pain, and sore throat
  • Suppression of sneezing, rhinorrhea (runny nose), and watery, itchy eyes

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Swallow tablets whole with water. May be taken with or without food.

Recommended Dosage:

  • Adults & Children 12 years and older: 1 to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Maximum 8 tablets in a 24-hour period.Children under 12 years: Not recommended unless advised by a physician.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • Do not exceed the maximum daily dose. Contains paracetamol; do not take concurrently with any other paracetamol-containing remedies. Phenylephrine may cause mild drowsiness or elevated blood pressure; use with caution in individuals with hypertension, cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, or prostatic hypertrophy. Avoid alcohol consumption during use. Do not take with Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days of stopping MAOI therapy. Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
