Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Parafast 500mg Effervescent Tablets (16s pack) provide rapid-onset pain and fever relief via a soluble liquid delivery system containing pure Paracetamol (Acetaminophen):
• Central Analgesia & Antipyresis: Acts primarily in the central nervous system by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis via central cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibition. It raises the body's overall pain threshold and acts directly on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center to induce peripheral vasodilation and sweating, effectively lowering elevated body temperature.
• Accelerated Gastrointestinal Absorption: The effervescent, pre-dissolved solution bypasses the slow disintegration phase required by standard solid tablets. This allows for rapid gastric emptying into the small intestine, leading to quicker systemic absorption and faster onset of therapeutic action.
• Gentle Gastric Tolerance: Does not cause gastric mucosal erosion, peptic ulceration, or gastrointestinal bleeding, making it a suitable analgesic option for individuals with sensitive stomachs or standard NSAID intolerances.

Clinical Indications

• Parafast 500mg Effervescent Tablets 16s is indicated for:
• Fast relief of mild to moderate pain including tension headaches, migraines, dental pain, and sore throats
• Management of musculoskeletal discomfort, backache, neuralgias, and dysmenorrhea (period pain)
• Reduction of fever and relief of generalized muscle aches and shivering from colds, flu, and viral infections
• Post-vaccination fever and localized post-procedure discomfort

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

• Administration: Fully dissolve the tablet in a full glass of water (approx. 200ml) before drinking. Drink immediately once effervescence stops. May be taken with or without food.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults & Children over 12 years: 1 to 2 tablets (500mg to 1000mg) dissolved in water every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not exceed 8 tablets (4000mg) within a 24-hour period.
• Children 6 to 12 years: ½ to 1 tablet (250mg to 500mg) dissolved in water every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Maximum 4 tablets (2000mg) in 24 hours.
• Precautions & Warnings: Overdose Warning: Taking more than the recommended daily dose can cause severe liver damage or fatal hepatic failure. Do not combine with any other paracetamol-containing products (such as cold/flu remedies). Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment, chronic alcoholism, or severe malnutrition. Contains sodium; patients on a strict low-sodium diet should factor in effervescent salt content.
