Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Pectacoff Syrup oral liquid combining expectorant, antihistaminic, and local soothing agents) acts directly on the respiratory tract and mucosal reflex pathways to restore airway clearance:
• Mucokinetic & Expectorant Action (Ammonium Chloride / Guaifenesin): Stimulates gastric mucosal sensory receptors to reflexively increase respiratory tract fluid secretion. This lowers the viscosity of thick bronchial mucus, allowing ciliated epithelium to effectively propel phlegm up and out of the airway.
• Antihistaminic & Reflex Suppression (Diphenhydramine / Antihistamine Component): Competitively blocks peripheral and central histamine -receptors, suppressing allergy-induced airway hyper-responsiveness, reducing post-nasal drip, and blunting the central cough reflex.
• Pharyngeal Demulcent & Cooling Action (Menthol & Citrate Base): Menthol selectively activates mucosal cold receptors in the upper pharynx, producing an immediate cooling and local anesthetic effect that numbs raw, irritated throat tissue and stops persistent cough tickles.

Clinical Indications & Uses

• Pectacoff Syrup 100ml is indicated for:
• Symptomatic relief of chesty, productive coughs associated with acute bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, and common cold congestion
• Calming dry, tickling, or allergic nocturnal cough spasms that disturb rest
• Soothing sore throat irritation and facilitating airway clearhead during upper respiratory tract infections

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Measure the dose accurately using a calibrated oral measuring cup or syringe. Drink adequate water throughout the day to further assist with mucus thinning.

Recommended Dosage:

• Children (6–12 years): (1 teaspoonful) 3 to 4 times daily, or as advised by a physician.
• Adults & Adolescents (12 years): (2 teaspoonfuls) 3 to 4 times daily.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For oral liquid administration only. Contraindicated or not recommended for children under 6 years of age without explicit medical supervision. May cause drowsiness, dizziness, or mild sedation; avoid driving, operating machinery, or consuming alcohol during use. Exercise caution in patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, severe hepatic or renal impairment, narrow-angle glaucoma, or prostatic hypertrophy.
