Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Todcol Drops ($15\text{ml}$ dropper bottle containing Simethicone $40\text{mg}/0.6\text{ml}$) acts as a non-systemic antifoaming and surfactant agent within the gastrointestinal tract:
• Gas Bubble Coalescence: Alters the surface tension of mucous-entrapped gas bubbles within the stomach and intestines. This causes small, isolated gas bubbles to coalesce into larger aggregations that can be passed more easily through belching (eructation) or flatus.
• Gastrointestinal Pressure Relief: Reduces visceral distension and pressure on sensitive intestinal walls, alleviating spasmodic abdominal pain and excessive crying associated with infant colic.
• Physiologically Inert Safety Profile: Simethicone is neither absorbed across the gastrointestinal mucosa into systemic circulation nor metabolized by intestinal enzymes; it passes through the digestive tract completely unchanged.

Clinical Indications & Uses

• Todcol Drops 15ml is indicated for:
• Relief of painful symptoms of infant colic, abdominal cramps, and gaseous distension in newborns, infants, and young children
• Alleviating excessive gas accumulation caused by swallowing air (aerophagia) during feeding or crying
• Adjunctive management of upper abdominal bloating and flatulence in pediatric and adult patients
• Defoaming agent prior to diagnostic gastroscopy or abdominal ultrasound procedures

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Use the provided calibrated dropper to measure the exact dose. Administer liquid directly into the infant's mouth (towards the inner cheek) or mix with cool water, formula, or breast milk.

Recommended Dosage:

• Infants under 2 years ($<10.8\text{ kg}$): Give $0.3\text{ml}$ ($20\text{mg}$) to $0.6\text{ml}$ ($40\text{mg}$) after feedings and at bedtime as needed. Do not exceed 12 doses ($2.4\text{ml}$) in a 24-hour period.Children 2 years and older: Give $0.6\text{ml}$ ($40\text{mg}$) to $1.2\text{ml}$ ($80\text{mg}$) after meals and at bedtime.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For oral administration only. Do not use in patients with known intestinal perforation, mechanical bowel obstruction, or severe hypersensitivity to simethicone. Discontinue use and consult a pediatrician if infant colic symptoms persist, worsen, or are accompanied by fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or blood in stools.
