Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Toufcof Chesty Expectorant Syrup (100ml) is an oral combination therapy formulated specifically to relieve heavy, wet coughs accompanied by dense chest phlegm. It targets mucus accumulation and bronchial constriction through complementary active pathways:
  • Mucolytic Action (Bromhexine HCl / Ambroxol HCl): Breaks down complex mucopolysaccharide fibers in bronchial secretions, significantly reducing mucus viscosity and liquefying dense, stubborn phlegm.
  • Expectorant Action (Guaifenesin): Increases hydration and fluid volume in the respiratory tract, loosening phlegm from bronchial walls so it can be effectively mobilized and coughed out.
  • Bronchodilating & Cooling Action (Terbutaline / Menthol): Relaxes bronchial smooth muscle to widen constricted airways, easing chest tightness while delivering a cooling, soothing sensation to irritated pharyngeal membranes.

  • Toufcof Chesty Exp 100ml is indicated for:
  • Symptomatic management of wet, productive coughs accompanied by thick chest phlegm and mucus retention
  • Relief of chest tightness and airway obstruction in acute and chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis, and tracheobronchitis
  • Clearing respiratory tract secretions in viral cold, flu, or secondary bacterial upper/lower respiratory infections
  • Promoting effective mucociliary clearance and airway clearance
  • Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions
  • Administration: Shake the bottle well before each use. Measure the recommended dose using a calibrated measuring cup or spoon. May be taken with or without food.
  • Recommended Dosage:
  • Adults & Children over 12 years: 10 ml taken 3 times daily.
  • Children (6–12 years): 5 ml taken 3 times daily.
  • Children under 6 years: Not recommended unless under direct medical advice.
  • Precautions & Warnings: Ensure adequate hydration (drinking extra fluids throughout the day) to enhance the expectorant action. May cause mild fine tremors, increased heart rate, or mild gastrointestinal upset in sensitive individuals.
