Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Tridex Expectorant Syrup (60ml oral solution) combines expectorant, decongestant, and antihistaminic actions to clear blocked airways and facilitate mucus expulsion:
• Expectorant & Mucus Clearance (Guaifenesin): Increases respiratory tract fluid output and reduces sputum viscosity, breaking down sticky bronchial secretions so they can be easily expelled via coughing.
• Vascular Decongestant Relief (Pseudoephedrine): Stimulates $\alpha$-adrenergic receptors on vascular smooth muscle, causing vasoconstriction in swollen nasal mucosal capillaries, reducing mucosal edema, and restoring nasal airway airflow.
• Antihistaminic Airway Calm (Triprolidine / Antihistamine Component): Competitively inhibits $H_1$-histamine receptors to curb allergic manifestations such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, watery eyes, and tickling pharyngeal cough reflexes.

• Clearing bronchial passages and easing breathing discomfort during acute bronchitis, colds, or influenza

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Measure the dose precisely using a calibrated measuring spoon or cup. Take after food to reduce potential stomach upset. Drink plenty of fluids during therapy to help loosen mucus.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults and Children over 12 years: 10ml 3 to 4 times daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
• Children 6–12 years: 5ml 3 to 4 times daily.
• Children under 6 years: Administer strictly under direct medical supervision.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For oral administration only. May cause drowsiness, dizziness, or mild nervousness; exercise caution when driving or operating machinery. Use with extreme caution in patients with hypertension, coronary artery disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, narrow-angle glaucoma, or urinary retention. Do not combine with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or take within 14 days of stopping MAOI therapy. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
