Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Almax Oral Suspension (225ml) is a bulk bottle antacid liquid containing Almagate, an hydrated aluminum-magnesium hydroxycarbonate complex designed for fast-acting, sustained relief from hyperacidity and acid reflux. It provides comprehensive gastro-esophageal mucosal protection:
• Fast-Acting Acid Neutralization: Reacts swiftly with excess gastric hydrochloric acid, raising gastric pH to an optimal therapeutic range (pH 3–5) within minutes. This stops burning sensations without over-alkalinizing the stomach or triggering secondary acid rebound.
• Inactivation of Aggressive Digestive Agents: Binds active pepsin and cytotoxic bile salts in gastric secretions, neutralizing their destructive action on sensitive esophageal and gastric mucosal walls.
• Mucosal Surface Coating: Forms a smooth, protective physical layer over hyperemic, irritated, or ulcerated stomach tissue, guarding against ongoing gastric juice erosion.

Clinical Indications

• Almax Oral Suspension 225ml is indicated for:
• Rapid relief of acute heartburn, acid indigestion, and burning epigastric discomfort
• Symptomatic treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and reflux esophagitis
• Relief of mucosal stomach pain associated with acute and chronic gastritis, gastric erosions, and peptic ulcer disease
• Alleviating bile acid reflux and non-ulcer dyspeptic discomfort

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

• Administration: Shake the bottle thoroughly before each dose. Measure the liquid using a calibrated dosage cup or spoon. Take 7.5 ml to 15 ml (equivalent to 1 to 2 measuring spoons) 30 to 60 minutes after main meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults & Children over 12 years: 7.5 ml to 15 ml taken 3 to 4 times daily after meals.
• Children under 12 years: Not recommended unless prescribed by a doctor.

Precautions & Warnings: Do not exceed 60 ml within a 24-hour period. Do not use continuously for more than 14 consecutive days without consulting a medical doctor. Use with caution in patients with severe renal impairment due to potential accumulation of aluminum or magnesium ions. Separate administration of other oral drugs (such as tetracyclines, quinolones, and iron supplements) by at least 2 hours, as antacids decrease their intestinal absorption.
