Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Omis Gel (200ml bottle) provides rapid, balanced acid-neutralizing capacity combined with gas-relieving agents for upper gastrointestinal distress:
• Gastric Acid Neutralization (Aluminium & Magnesium Hydroxide): Reacts stoichiometrically with gastric hydrochloric acid ($\text{HCl}$) in the stomach lumen to raise gastric $\text{pH}$, inactivating pepsin proteolysis and reducing direct mucosal acidity without causing acid rebound.
• Balanced Intestinal Motility Effect: Combining aluminium hydroxide (which tends to exert a mild constipating effect) with magnesium hydroxide (which exerts a mild laxative effect) ensures balanced gastrointestinal motility and comfortable bowel function during therapy.
• Surface-Tension Defoaming Action (Simethicone): Reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles trapped within the gastric fluid, causing them to coalesce into larger, easily expelled bubbles, thereby relieving abdominal distension, belching, and painful flatulence.

Clinical Indications & Uses

• Omis Gel 200ml is indicated for:
• Rapid relief of heartburn, pyrosis, and acid regurgitation associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Symptomatic treatment of gastric hyperacidity, acid indigestion, acute or chronic gastritis, and peptic ulcer discomfort
• Alleviation of upper abdominal pressure, bloating, and gas distress secondary to hyperacidity or dietary indiscretion

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use. Take between meals and at bedtime, or as needed when symptoms arise.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults and Children over 12 years: Take 10ml to 20ml (2 to 4 teaspoonfuls) 4 times daily, taken 20 to 60 minutes after meals and at bedtime.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For oral administration. Contraindicated in severe renal impairment (risk of hypermagnesemia or aluminium accumulation) or hypophosphatemia. Do not take maximum recommended doses for more than 2 consecutive weeks without consulting a physician. Antacids can impair the gastrointestinal absorption of concurrently administered medications (such as tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, iron salts, and ketoconazole); separate dosing times by at least 2 hours. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a cool, dry place. Protect from freezing and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
