Overview & Mechanism of Action

• Perobar 5% Cleansing Bar ($75\text{g}$ bar containing Benzoyl Peroxide $5\%\text{ w/w}$) provides powerful bactericidal and desquamative action across acne-prone skin:
• Antimicrobial Oxidation (C. acnes Suppression): Rapidly penetrates the pilosebaceous follicles, where it decomposes to release reactive oxygen species (ROS). These free radicals oxidize structural proteins and cell membranes of Cutibacterium acnes (P. acnes), significantly reducing bacterial colonization without inducing bacterial resistance.
• Keratolytic & Comedolytic Action: Accelerates epidermal cell turnover and loosens intercellular desmosomes within the stratum corneum. This facilitates the breakdown of existing microcomedones (blackheads and whiteheads) and prevents new follicular plug formation.
• Sebum Regulation & Anti-Inflammatory Effect: Reduces follicular free fatty acid levels and inhibits bacterial-induced cytokine release, calming inflammatory papules and pustules on both facial areas and larger body surfaces (chest and back).

Clinical Indications & Uses

• Perobar 5% Cleansing Bar 75g is indicated for:
• Topical treatment and daily hygiene management of mild-to-moderate Acne Vulgaris
• Managing body acne (truncus, back, and chest acne) where liquid washes or gels may be difficult to apply evenly
• Preventing recurrent acne breakouts, comedones, and superficial cutaneous folliculitis in oil-prone skin types

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

• Wet the affected skin areas with warm water. Work the cleansing bar into a rich lather using hands, apply gently to the skin, and leave in contact for 1 to 2 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with clean water. Pat dry with a clean towel.

Recommended Dosage:

• Adults and Adolescents: Use once or twice daily during morning and evening washing routines, or as directed by a dermatologist. If excessive dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application frequency to once daily or every other day.

Precautions & Warnings:

• For external dermatological use only. Avoid contact with eyes, eyelids, lips, nostrils, and mucous membranes. Note: Benzoyl Peroxide may bleach hair and dyed fabrics (towels, clothing, bed linen). Avoid concurrent use with harsh abrasive soaps, topical alcohol preparations, or aggressive exfoliants unless recommended by a physician. Transient redness, mild stinging, and superficial scaling may occur during the first few weeks of therapy. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a dry soap dish away from direct sunlight and heat.
