  • Primapore Adhesive Wound Dressing (20cm x 10cm, 20 sterile dressings per box) engineered by Smith & Nephew provides reliable sterile protection and fluid management for post-surgical and acute wounds:
  • Absorbent Low-Adherent Pad: Features a thick central absorbent pad designed to capture and lock in fluid exudate while preventing maceration of surrounding skin. The wound-contact layer is lined with a perforated plastic film that stops the pad from adhering to fragile healing tissue, ensuring minimal pain upon removal.
  • Soft & Conformable Non-Woven Backing: Constructed from a breathable, highly conformable non-woven fabric that easily adapts to awkward body contours (e.g., joints, shoulders, or abdominal incisions) without restricting patient mobility.
  • Hypoallergenic Acrylic Adhesive: Coated with a skin-friendly, low-allergy acrylic adhesive that secures the dressing firmly in place, minimizing skin stripping, tape burns, or localized irritation during dressing changes.

Clinical Indications

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Thoroughly cleanse and dry the wound and surrounding intact skin. Peel back the protective backing paper without touching the sterile central pad. Center the pad directly over the wound bed and gently smooth down the adhesive borders to secure.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For external wound care only. Sterile until opened; do not use if the individual pouch is damaged or unsealed. Change dressing regularly according to clinical protocols, or whenever exudate reaches the edge of the absorbent pad. Do not stretch the dressing during application, as tension may cause skin blistering or shearing trauma. Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
