Quadrajel Gel 15g is a fast-acting topical oral mucosal gel formulated with Lignocaine, Choline Salicylate, and Benzalkonium Chloride to rapidly numb mouth ulcer pain, reduce localized mucosal inflammation, and prevent secondary bacterial infection.

1

Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Quadrajel Gel tube designed for precise topical application to the oral mucosa) provides triple-action targeted relief for painful mouth lesions:
  • Rapid Local Anesthesia (Lignocaine Hydrochloride): Reversibly blocks voltage-gated sodium channels along peripheral mucosal nerve endings. This halts neuronal membrane depolarization and blocks nociceptive impulse conduction, delivering swift local numbing within minutes.
  • Mucosal Anti-Inflammatory Action (Choline Salicylate): Rapidly absorbed across mucosal epithelium to inhibit cyclooxygenase enzymes, suppressing localized prostaglandin synthesis to decrease tissue swelling, redness, and underlying hypersensitivity.
  • Antiseptic Membrane Disruption (Benzalkonium Chloride): Functions as a cationic quaternary ammonium surfactant that disrupts microbial cell walls. This controls secondary bacterial colonization over raw mucosal ulcers, facilitating undisturbed tissue repair.

Clinical Indications & Uses

  • Quadrajel Gel 15g is indicated for:
  • Symptomatic management of painful aphthous stomatitis (canker sores) and recurrent oral ulcerations
  • Fast relief of acute mucosal pain caused by denture friction, orthodontic wire abrasions, and minor cheek or lip lesionsSoothing supportive care for localized gingival inflammation, stomatitis, and mucosal abrasions

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Wash hands thoroughly. Apply a small, pea-sized amount of Quadrajel Gel directly onto the cleansed oral ulcer or painful mucosal area using a clean fingertip or cotton swab. Gently dab onto the lesion without excessive rubbing.

Recommended Frequency:

  • Apply 3 to 4 times daily, preferably prior to meals or bedtime to facilitate comfortable eating and sleeping. Avoid eating, drinking, or rinsing the mouth for at least 20 to 30 minutes post-application to maximize mucosal retention.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For topical oral mucosal application only. Do not swallow large quantities. Avoid applying over extensive open wounds or deep pharyngeal tissues. Excessive application or systemic absorption of lignocaine may cause systemic local anesthetic toxicity (such as dizziness, drowsiness, or numbness of the pharynx leading to aspiration risks). Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to amide-type local anesthetics or salicylates. Discontinue use if localized allergic contact reactions or severe burning sensations occur. Store below25 degrees Celsius in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
