Zytee Gel 10ml is a fast-acting topical oral analgesic and antiseptic gel combining Choline Salicylate and Benzalkonium Chloride to rapidly alleviate mouth ulcer pain, soothe gum soreness, and prevent mucosal bacterial infections.

1

Overview & Mechanism of Action

  • Zytee Gel ($10\text{ml}$ tube formulated for targeted mucosal application) delivers fast localized pain relief and infection control for painful lesions inside the oral cavity:
  • Topical Analgesic & Anti-Inflammatory Action (Choline Salicylate): Rapidly penetrates the oral mucosa to inhibit cyclooxygenase ($\text{COX}$) enzymes, reducing local prostaglandin synthesis. This attenuates local inflammatory cascades, swelling, and nociceptive pain signaling within 3 to 5 minutes of application.
  • Antimicrobial Protection (Benzalkonium Chloride): Functions as a cationic surfactant antimicrobial agent that disrupts bacterial plasma membranes, preventing secondary bacterial contamination and infection in open aphthous lesions or denture-induced mucosal abrasions.
  • Mucosal Adhesion & Protection: Formulated in a smooth gel vehicle that coats painful mucosal surfaces, forming a protective barrier against acidic foods, mechanical friction, and tactile irritation.

Clinical Indications & Uses

  • Zytee Gel 10ml is indicated for:
  • Rapid symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation associated with recurrent aphthous ulcers (canker sores) and oral stomatitis
  • Soothing mucosal irritation caused by ill-fitting dentures, dental appliances, or orthodontic braces
  • Facilitating healing in minor oral wounds, tongue bites, and sore, inflamed gums

Usage Guidance & Safety Precautions

Administration:

  • Wash hands thoroughly before use. Apply a small quantity of gel (enough to cover the lesion) to the affected area inside the mouth using a clean fingertip or cotton swab. Gently massage onto the ulcer or inflamed mucosa. Avoid eating, drinking, or rinsing for at least 30 minutes after application to maximize mucosal absorption.

Recommended Dosage:

  • Adults and Children over 16 years: Apply every 3 to 4 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 6 times daily.

Precautions & Warnings:

  • For topical oral mucosa application only; do not swallow large amounts. Contraindicated in children under 16 years of age due to the theoretical risk of Reye's syndrome associated with salicylate components, as well as individuals with active peptic ulceration or known hypersensitivity to salicylates. Discontinue use if localized burning, rash, or mucosal irritation occurs. Store below $25^\circ\text{C}$ in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
